Introspection

Introspection…
Staring into my own reflection,
I don’t think I’ve ever felt so lost.
My mind obsessing over every loss.
The cost of my ambition,
The sacrifice of my life’s position.
What is it that I seek?
Is it power or something meek?
Finding the words to speak is in no way easy.
Either way, no one understands me.
I’ve lost so much,
Friends, family, love and such.
I don’t want to stare into that face again,
Into the reflection of my life’s lament,
The image of my light’s fragment.
I’ve lost the will that has once made me so strong,
There is nothing left to make of my heart’s resolve.
Because I’m left here wondering why I cared,
When it should of have been love I feared.
